Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Expose Settlematic as tools Claude can call — read invoices, create drafts, summarize KPIs.

MCP is Anthropic's standard for connecting AI assistants to external systems. Settlematic's connector maps your org's API key to a tool surface: list invoices, get client details, create invoice drafts, and more. Claude interprets your intent; Settlematic enforces permissions.

Getting started with Claude

  1. 1.Create a Settlematic account and generate an API key with the scopes you need.
  2. 2.Build the MCP server once: cd mcp-server && npm install && npm run build (inside the backend repo)
  3. 3.Add the Settlematic MCP server to Claude Desktop (see Settings → API keys for config JSON).
  4. 4.Start with read-only scopes, then add invoices:write when comfortable.

ChatGPT Custom GPT

In GPT Builder → Configure → Actions → Import from URL, paste your backend OpenAPI URL (shown on Settings → API keys). Auth: API Key header Authorization with value Bearer sk_live_.... Use the same scoped key as Claude.
